Health insurance that actually fits your life.

Self-employed, between jobs, retiring early, or running a small business. Tom Vaughn helps you find health cover that works.

Health insurance for your situation.

Needs differ a lot. Tom asks about your situation, not just your age and zip code, before he recommends anything.

On your own

No plan through work? Tom looks at marketplace plans, HSA plans and short-term cover, and matches them to your income and your health.

Covering the family

Family plans differ on deductibles, networks and children's cover. Tom compares them and finds one that protects everyone without costing too much.

Group health benefits

Benefits help you hire and keep good people. Tom sets up group plans that you can afford, that meet the rules, and that your team will use.

Retiring before 65

Retire early and you have a gap before Medicare starts. Tom finds cover for those years without overpaying.

What Tom can help you find.

Individual & Family Plans

Marketplace plans come in bronze, silver, gold and platinum. A lower premium means higher costs when you use it. Tom explains the trade and checks what help you qualify for.

Small Group Plans

Group cover for businesses with 2 to 50 staff. Tom compares the insurers, handles the rules and runs the sign-up.

Dental, Vision & More

Dental and vision plans, critical illness, hospital and accident cover. Tom adds these to fill the gaps your main plan leaves.

When you can sign up, and when you have to.

There are rules about when you can sign up. Miss a window and you may wait months. Tom tracks the dates and tells you when to act.

Most people sign up during Open Enrollment. Certain life events also open a window: marriage, losing a job, a new baby.

Open Enrollment Period
November 1 to January 15 for marketplace plans. This is when most people switch or renew.
Special Enrollment Period
Opened by a life event. Losing cover through work, marriage, divorce, a new baby, or a move. Usually 60 days.
Group Plan Enrollment
You can set up a small group plan at any time of year. The employer sets the sign-up window for staff.

Independent guidance, no carrier games.

Tom is independent. He is not tied to one insurer. He checks the major plans in your area and recommends the one that fits, not the one that pays him most.

His advice is free and does not change your premium. You pay the same either way.

All major carriersTom compares every major insurer in your area, not one or two.
Plain English explanationsTom puts the fine print into plain words. Deductibles, networks, drug lists.
Annual reviewsPlans change every year. Tom contacts you at renewal to check yours is still the best one.

An HMO keeps you inside its network. You need a referral to see a specialist. Premiums are usually lower. A PPO lets you go outside the network without a referral, and costs more. Tom weighs the two against your doctors and how often you use them.

Tax credits go to people earning between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level. Recent law widened that. Tom can tell you quickly whether you qualify and how much it would cut your premium.

Losing cover through work opens a special sign-up window, usually 60 days. You can take a marketplace plan. Depending on your income you may qualify for Medi-Cal. You can also keep your old plan through COBRA, but COBRA usually costs much more.

Yes. Most health plans do not include full dental or vision, so people buy them separately. Tom compares plans from several insurers and finds one that fits your budget.
