Medicare
Who is eligible?
You have a seven-month window to apply for Medicare. Three months before you turn 65, the month you turn 65, and three months after you turn 65.
What is Medicare Supplemental Insurance?
This is a policy that can assist with paying some of the health care costs that Original Medicare does not cover like coinsurance, co-payments, or deductibles. Medicare is made up of two main parts: Part A and Part B. Part A covers hospital expenses and Part B is your general medical insurance for outpatient medical needs.
What is Medicare Advantage?
Medicare Advantage, also known as Medicare Part C, is an alternative to Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. These plans provide all the benefits of Original Medicare and often include additional coverage such as prescription drugs, vision, dental, and wellness programs. Medicare Advantage plans typically have networks of doctors and hospitals, and they may require referrals to see specialists. They often have cost-sharing arrangements like copayments and deductibles.
